| Costa Careyes |
| Costa Careyes is located at Km 53 of Highway 200 along the coast in Jalisco and thus is 53km North of the Barra de Navidad and Melaque area, about an hour's drive. It is home to upscale resorts and private homes and draws a largely European crowd. Accommodations include The Careyes, Casas de las Flores, Bungalows Playa Rosa,the Castles of Careyes --one of which sports a private suspension bridge,-- and the Villas of Playa Rosa (more info). |

The Careyes area is also home to several beautiful and very elegant private mansions situated along the cliffs above the sea. Several of these can be glimpsed from either the highway or from the Careyes resort area. |
| The Polo Club Costa Careyes, founded in 1989, is the only of it's kind in the Costalegre. The 2005/2006 Polo season runs between November 11 and April 30 (full schedule). The public are welcome to come and view the matches for no charge. The access road to the polo grounds is marked by a small sign on highway 200 south of the entrance to Careyes resort. |
