Once again you have a choice of accommodation; the hotel Mayto with pool on Mayto beach about 4km before Tehuamixtle, or a simple seaside room in Tehua. It's up to you and depends on your budget, you may choose to spend one night in each. See How Much below.
Day 2 we have breakfast and mount the bikes early for the mountain bike ride north along Cabo Corrientes to Corales a small settlement across a small bay from the Lighthouse (Faro) on Cabo Corrientes. On the 2 hour bike ride up to Corales we pass through the tiny coastal settlements of Mayto and Aquilles Serdan and then head away from the ocean for a bit to travel through beautiful and lush tropical jungle into Corales. There are 2 light climbs on the route.
When we arrive in Corales we'll leave the bikes and take a panga across the small bay to the start of the trail to the light house. The pleasant shady walk to the lighthouse takes about 45 minutes on a trail through the woods and along the cliffs above the ocean. The trail is still in use today by mules that carry large containers of diesel from the landing to the light house to power the light that has guided ships around the cape for over 130 years.
