| Cuyutlán, the Salt Museum and the Marine Turtle Sanctuary Tour |
| Join us on a full day tour from Barra de Navidad and Melaque to visit lovely Cuyutlán on the open ocean about one hour south of Manzanillo. You’ll also visit the Sea Turtle and Green Iguana Sanctuary near Cuyutlán, stroll the boardwalk through the mangroves and have an opportunity to take a boat tour of the Laguna Cuyutlán.

| We leave Barra de Navidad – one hour north of Manzanillo Colima and 10 minutes south of Melaque by bus or car, at 9:00 am. On the way out to Cuyutlán we stop off at the Cuyutlán Salt works on the shore of the lagoon where they extract salt from seawater in the traditional manner. Then we set off for the turtle sanctuary on the beach near Cuyutlán.

| Arriving at the sea turtle sanctuary and research station we will spend some time here observing the turtles in different stages of development and learning about the different types of sea turtles found in the Manzanillo and Costalegre area. The sanctuary also has American Crocodiles and Iguanas that you can observe in different stages of development. If you like you can bring your bathing suit because in addition to the many pools for the reptiles they have a separate swimming pool for visitors to cool off in. |

| Day Trips |
| We’ll have a coffee and a snack at the sanctuary and then take a walk on the boardwalk through the mangroves. Next we will embark on a boat tour of the palo verde estuary. Part of the laguna de Cuyutlan the estuary is teeming with a wide variety of water and other birds, as well as iguanas, mapaches and other wild life. |

| When we leave the Turtle Sanctuary we head into the town of Cuyutlán for a visit to the Museum of Salt where you will receive a complimentary bag of Cuyutlán sea salt. Then we have a late lunch on the shady terrace of a delightful hotel built in the 1940’s. After that you have some free time to walk the beach or take some sun before the return to Barra de Navidad. |

The tour embarks any time we have two people that want to go and the trip includes water and soft drinks, coffee and snack and a full lunch with two cerveza or soft drinks.
