Carnaval Autlan 2010 and Tonaya Tequila and Mescal Distilleries Tour
It is now confirmed that the trip will run on the most eventful day of Carnaval Autlan 2010 – Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras, Martes de Carnaval – February 16th, 2010. Join us on a fun and event filled trip to the final and most exciting day of Carnaval Autlan 2010. Carnaval Autlan is now in its 178th year so you know these folks know how to throw a party!

We will leave from Barra de Navidad in front of Casa de Marco at 165 Avenida Veracruz at 8:30 am, departure from the Jardin in Villa Obregon will be at 8:45 am and from Melaque in front of Banamex at 9:00 am. We will arrive in Autlan about 11:30 or noon. There will be pastries, fruit and coffee on the way and we have a big lunch planned for that afternoon so hopefully that will hold everyone until then.

Arriving in Autlan we will proceed to the centro and enjoy the beverages and snacks in the “Callejon de Gusto”. Then we will enjoy the entertainment and festivities before going for lunch around 1:00. After lunch we will enjoy more of the festivities and celebration offered by the people of Autlan until we head over the Plaza de Toros around 4:00 to take up our reserved on the shady side seats for the tradional Spanish bull fights.
After the bull fights we'll have some dinner and then join the people in the streets for the final wind up of Carnavel Autlan 2010. By around 10:00 or 10:30 pm we'll head for the sleepy little tequila and mescal producing town of Tonaya a few miles away where we will spend the night.
You'll find information on who the bull fighters and the entertainers for the closing ceremonies will be as soon as we know - but they are all professionals and it is a great show all round! Please reserve by January 12, 2010 so that we can purchase your reserved ticket to the bull fights.

Overnight special event Get-Away Autlan and Tonaya 2010
The next morning in Tonaya you can all sleep in and then we'll enjoy a great breakfast before heading out to tour the Tequila and Mescal distilleries.
One of the largest destilleries we visit is the Mezcal Factory el Grupo Corona who produce the mezcal: rancho escondido, mezcal don armando (reserva), mezcalito, aventurero, tres and more. After our tours of the destilleries we will explore this quaint town including the ruin of the old church of the Virgin of Tonaya and the Temple of Our Lady of the Asuncion that dates from the 1800’s. After a visit to one of the Tavernas for lunch we'll head back to the coast.
