Frequently Asked Questions

Do the Airlines carry bikes for free?

That depends on the airline. Fees listed here are one-way.

Air Transat will carry a properly boxed or bagged bike for nothing on a first come space available basis.

Alaska Airlines charges $50 USD or roughly $75.00 CAD each way to carry a properly boxed bike.

America West charges $80 USD for oversized items such as bikes.

Continental Airlines charges $80 USD for a properly containerised bike.

Check with your air carrier about their rules before travelling with your bike. One thing you need to take into account is that large items like bikes can be bumped and left behind on full planes.
